While the records spin too. ... and the windmills in my head spin the other
way -O* ?
I was sorting through my record collection last night trying to find a tune called Nobody Here But
Us Chickens, when my friend Mavis Smith came for a visit. Now if there are any new reader of this my silliness present
- or any of the old have forgotten to take their memory pills like I often do ... - I think I better explain *o* Mavis
is an invented character - a figment of my imagination so to speak. And very proud of it by the way -O* Claims she was "Born
Standing Up And Fighting Back" ... when she is in fact just a blue eyed half Danish, half English pussycat *o* But never
mind how she came into being - I see no reason to be impolite, so I welcomed her into my flat, and asked her, how her and
her hubby were doing. Now another figment of my overheated brain has gotten her married to Johnny Depp - but that's quite
another story, as they say - so she felt just fine and dandy, thank you -O* She started helping me finding the baby hensī
"Home alone" tune. And while we did that, she told me a story about the first time, she and Johnny were truly alone -
going down hill in San Francisco. Her tease - Mavis' Johnny? - claims, it has been going "down hill" for him ever since -
but he looks so happy at Mavis saying it, I for one donīt believe him -o* Johnny was looking for a second hand book shop,
he had heard about in that neighbourhood, and Mavis was looking for - well, not to put any finer point to it -o* - a way to
lure him into bed frankly. HER bed of course !! Tshe *o* But here is her story in her own words:
"Johnny had
picked me up at my hotel - asking, if I wanted to join him in search of this excellent second hand book store, since I had
claimed, I love books. Going down this very steep hill, Johnny asked me, how I felt. I think, he meant about being in
America for the first time *o* But I answered: ""How Do You Think I Feel?" - "You Made Me Love You" - so here I am "In The
Mood" "On The Sunny Side Of The Street"" ... in fact it was at night, Meeps - but one should never let such little details
stop one *o* ..... come to think of it - Iīve just realized ... Johnny wasnīt looking for the bookshop either !?! He must
have know it would be closed at that time of the day - evening *o* He just wanted to be with me for a little while - aaaaah
*O* Oh, yes, my story *o* I continued "I feel "All Shook Up", Baby. So letīs do a bit of "Shake, Rattle And Roll" and
"Rock Around The Clock", so there can be some "Peace In The Valley" for me ..." Johnny definitely looked to be a bit of
a "Shy Guy" to me, and didnīt answer right away, so I pleaded a bit more ""Donīt Sit Under The Apple Tree" looking up at "The
Blue Moon Of Kentucky" so to speak - even though we are in Frisco ... and just dream about what to do. "Love Me Tender" instead,
Johnny-baby - before I have to check in at the "Heartbreak Hotel" ...." Johnny asked me in a tone of voice some where
between teasing and panic ""Whatīs Love Got To Do With It?"" And I thought ""Typical Male!!!"" But then looked at
this sweet beauty again, and thought "No, he is very far for typical - oooh, he is SO gorgeous ..." So I said in a gentler
tone of voice "You are nervous, my "Poor Boy" - but let my be your "Teddy Bear"? "You Always Hurt The One You Love", but we
should rather "Ac-cent-u-ate The Positive" and be sweet and gentle ... If we do this "My Way", I am sure, the singing part
of your anatomy will compose and perform its very own "Opus One" before long *o* " Johnny was willing to give it a try,
so we went back to my room and ... could you pass me the wine, Meeps? And ... Well, you have to guess for yourself, what we
did at my room! You are a big girl after all -o* And there is no tune about that here *O* "
And with that she just left me hanging there - drinking wine and dreaming .... So today I
am nursing my hangover, and am playing nothing but gentle old jazz -o* -

The Mills Brothers, Little Richard, Frank Sinatra and Tina Turner.
And of course ... the one and only Elvis Presley -o*
